a portrait taken by my spouse, Lucas Belgrove

Hello! My name is Alison Woodward (they/them), my friends call me al :)

I have the privilege of being an illustrator, a tattooer and an instructor (professionally, that is, I am many things!).

I live and work in coastal BC, Canada which is the unceded territories of thexʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am grateful to remain as a guest, it is truly an amazing place to live.

I currently make tattoos at Baohaus Collective alongside a lovely cohort of colleagues.

I graduated with a bachelors of fine arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2014, if you’re interested in that kind of thing (:

I started my tattoo apprenticeship is 2011 and quit my day job to tattoo full time in 2014 and have been grateful to be a part of tattooing ever since.

I am an auxiliary instructor at the Anvil Center, which resides on the lands of the Halkomelem speaking peoples. I teach paper arts and am grateful to be a part of that community.

If you have any questions for me, or would like to know more about my practise, you are welcome to contact me.

Thank you for your interest in my work.
